Telugu students continued to show their dominance in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) bagging the top three marks in the country with Sai Teja Talluri scoring the highest marks of 345 out of 360 among the 15 lakh aspirants.
R. Gayatri, who scored 330, which is the fourth highest score, secured the highest score among girls in the country.
Second best score
The second best score went to Vignesh Reddy Konda who secured 340 marks while Malpuru Prash Reddy and Sai Aditya Sonthi secured 340 each to figure at the top third place.
Four students – Sai Praneeth Reddy, Chappidi Laxminarayana, P. Saikiran Reddy and R. Gayatri secured the fourth highest marks of 330 each.
All these students are from the Narayana Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy.
B.S. Rao, Director of Sri Chaitanya institutions told a press conference that only 60-plus candidates secured more than 300 marks in the entire country and of which 43 students are from Narayana Sri Chaitanya IIT Academy making the Telugu States proud.
Among these 43 students 19 have come from the Sri Chaitanya Techno schools that helped them to understand the concepts much better from the school level.
"The specially designed curriculum has made the difference," he said.
Dr. Rao said out of the two lakh top candidates who would get the opportunity to write the JEE Advanced for entry into IITs are from both the Telugu states.
The JEE- Main candidates will be eligible for admission into NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded technical institutions.
Delta Academy Chairman, Srikanth said 51 students out of the 80 from their institutions will qualify for the JEE Advanced.
